I'm bad
All he greatest plans in the world don't go anywhere unless you get off your butt and do them. My desire to do blogging on my personal and professional sites has not been good. I have sort of been keeping up with face book, and I started a linked in account. I still have to figure that out.
I have been reading a lot again and trying to get my groove back on, actually trying to find my core value for my business.
It is amazing how you live your life one way planning and accomplishing all the things you set out to do; Then one day illness happens, a loved one dies and your children have their own life and families. The earth shakes and your life is all of a sudden not what you had planned. The person you planned on growing old with is gone. The material things and all that you have, has lost there luster.
A new chapter has begun. The winter of your life has arrived unexpectedly. After 7 years finally the grey days are fewer and you really do see a little sun. Spring is just around the corner and you see new growth.
The Core values I have in my life and my business are really the same.
Commitment to Quality, detail, loyalty, paying attention to the little things, never being satisfied with the ordinary, friendly and remembering to enjoy the ride.
Emerson said,"What you thunders above your had so loudly, I cannot hear a word you speak".
I always try to make sure that everyone family, friend or foe know that they are important and that they make a difference in my life and others.
I want to laugh more often, meet the challenge everyday with the passion of yesterday and discover the purpose of why I am here and what I am suppose to do about it.
First I was a wife and a mother.
I was a successful business woman.
I was a community volunteer. The lady who was never too busy to do one more thing.
I was the local councilor, to those who had lost their way.
If you were hungry I had a private food pantry.
When you needed furniture I knew where to find you some if you could move it.
Which reminds me of a funny story. One of the families I helped get started in an apartment and a local family was getting all new furniture and they donated it, but we had to move it. I borrowed a truck from my friend's husband and she and her children helped us move. The truck was so loaded and some items in the back were not very secure. So, I sat in the back, like Granny Clampet; As we were going over the speed bumps, everyone was watching and knew at any moment that I and the furniture would end up in the street. That was a fun day.
I became a successful Realtor in 1984.
I became a business partner in several successful ventures.
I developed a 16 unit town home development, from acquiring the land to finding the the sewer and construction.
I have rehabbed homes.
I have a Real Estate Brokers license.
I even have an Appraisers license.
I was a Commissioner of Housing for the County.
President of the Lions Club and other offices.
Instrumental in starting a 5 day Community celebration in 1969, still runs today.
I was an auditing clerk at the local bank.
I was the liaison and advisor to the Youth group for 6 years.
I ran unsuccessfully for city council.
I sat on the park commission for 2 terms.
I guess you can say I have been a busy little beaver.
Having done all these things, I am excited about life, I enjoyed the ride but my car broke down.
I have a idea and I have been pursuing the wheels for my new ride. Hang on, because it will be new off the assembly line and we are going to celebrate, energize and everyone will feel the LOVE.
Tell next time.
Labels: My new ride.
